Roughs: A Process
Every artist has their sketchbook, here’s my equivalent. Personally, I feel the process is just as important as the final project. I love starting with 10 quick sketches in 10 minutes. From there, I work to improve the top 3 ideas of the 10 sketches. Lastly, I choose the best of the 3 sketches to fully flesh out for a final rough. I repeat the process until I have roughs I am satisfied with. Hundreds of rough sketches for ad campaigns later and here we are!

Using metaphor methodology, my intention was to convey that every sip of Harney & Sons tea brings to mind flavors associated with France. Our target audience consisted of sophisticated adults who were in search of a finer brand of tea.
Using elimination methodology, I wanted to emphasize the fact that without Scotch Magic Tape even the smallest imperfection looks large.
Using the technique of borrowed interest, I chose the cautionary tale of the Three Little Pigs to show that even Gorilla Glue on the straw house could withstand the big bad wolf.
